SIU Credit Union Blood Drive Exceeds Goal
SIU Credit Union, with the assistance of The American Red Cross, hosted a community blood drive on Thursday, April 24. The blood drive had 21 people attempt to give blood and collected 17 pints of blood. The drive’s goal was 15 pints, meaning the blood drive exceeded the goal by two units. According to www.redcrossblood.org, this is enough blood to save up to 45 lives. The blood drive took place at SIU Credit Union near Kroger in Carbondale at 395 N. Giant City Road. We want to the The American Red Cross for their time and great work in our community. We also want to thank everyone who came to the event to give blood.
