Homecoming Parades 2014!

You may have caught us out and about lately! The Marketing Department (along with SIU Credit Union management team members and employees) has stayed pretty busy this past month walking in 5 Homecoming Parades. We enjoyed getting out into our branch location communities.
We kicked off the Homecoming Parade season in Harrisburg. The theme of the parade was Disney Princesses’. So many cute princesses running around!  I totally wish we would have known the theme a little sooner, we could have at least worn tiaras or something. 😉

Next parade was the Herrin High School Homecoming Parade. The weather turned out great for this one. We really lucked out, I think the parade gods were looking out for us because the sky was dark all morning, it cleared up for the parade, and then just 30 minutes after we finished it started pouring!
Next, we visited none other than the home of Superman: Metropolis, for the Massac County High School Homecoming Parade.

It’s a good thing we had our walking shoes on for the Marion Homecoming Parade… WOW was that a long one! We had to drive back over our steps after to find out just how long, 2.8 miles. I’ve always heard that Marion does it big, I believe it now.

Our final parade for the season just so happened to be Southern Illinois University Homecoming. What a great parade! We all got tatted up with SIU Logo fake tattoos, the length of the parade was short and the speed was slow enough that we didn’t feel like we were running and we got to pass more goodies out to the parade-goers.

These parades were all a great time, SIU Credit Union enjoys getting involved in the community! We received a lot of positive feedback on the stickers we passed out to the kids. I think the parents were especially happy that is wasn’t more candy. 😉 We were also passing out coupons to the adults which was also a big hit. If you saw us out and about at any of these Parades, how’d you like our goodies?
